01 · Brief

Finding what’s nearby in one tap.

Civardo is a free web app that shows nearby businesses across 16 categories and 80 sub-categories in Türkiye. It needs no account and works in Turkish and English.

The need

Someone looking for a duty pharmacy at night or a tradesperson nearby wants the list sorted by distance, with open or closed status. Users who would rather not share their location should not be left out either.

Goal

Sort results by distance, work without location permission and keep duty pharmacies current for 81 provinces every day.

Approach

A search layer that queries two data sources in parallel and de-duplicates by name; a two-tier cache and rate limit guard the cost, and open data takes over when the daily budget runs out.

Solution

Map and distance-sorted results, 2, 5 and 10 km search radius, picking a location by address or by dragging a pin, a place card with open status and recent reviews, and duty pharmacy pages for 81 provinces refreshed automatically every day.

Outcome

Live at civardo.com; the 24 September 2026 data lists 1,312 duty pharmacies across 81 provinces.

With location shared, places are sorted from nearest to farthest; if results are few, search widens from 2 km to 5 and 10 km.

Users who skip location permission can search an address or neighbourhood, or drag a pin on the map.

Pick a province to see the day’s duty pharmacies by district, with address and phone; the list refreshes itself daily.

When searching nearby pharmacies, duty pharmacies within 15 km are flagged and listed first.

Open or closed, a small map, directions, phone and recent Google reviews on one card.
